Privacy and cookies
Effective date: 30 September 2026. This Privacy Policy explains how DULIN processes personal data when you use the website, iOS or Android app, account features, map, Premium subscription, support flows and related planning tools.
DULIN uses essential cookies and local storage for login, account access, security, subscription state and basic application preferences. Analytics and diagnostic information may be used to keep the service reliable, understand product usage and improve Iceland outdoor planning features.
Data DULIN may process
- Account details such as e-mail address, login provider and subscription status.
- Payment and billing records handled by providers such as Stripe, Apple, Google and RevenueCat. Mobile purchases use an app user identifier and purchase history to validate subscriptions and analyze purchases; DULIN does not receive full app-store payment card details.
- Technical logs, security events, device/browser information and diagnostic data.
- Support messages, data correction reports and feedback sent to DULIN.
- Map and feature usage signals used to improve filters, Premium tools and reliability.
- Mobile trip names, plans and notes synchronized with an account, and hashes of online search queries retained in request logs.
- Precise device location only when attached to a mobile problem report; ordinary map and nearby location is processed on the device. Request logs may include IP-derived approximate location.
The mobile app uses Expo Observe to process crash reports, performance measurements and diagnostic events with a persistent, pseudonymous identifier for that app installation. The identifier is not derived from device hardware or the DULIN account.
Why the data is used
Personal and technical data is used to operate the service, provide Premium access, prevent abuse, respond to support requests, maintain security, process payments, improve the map and communicate important service changes.
Providers and sharing
DULIN may use hosting, e-mail, payment, security and analytics providers needed to run the service. Stripe processes website payments; Apple, Google and RevenueCat process mobile in-app purchases; Expo processes installation-level mobile diagnostics. DULIN does not sell user personal data or use these services for advertising tracking across other companies' apps or websites.
Your choices
You can contact support@dulin.is for privacy questions, account issues, data correction requests or deletion requests where applicable. Some data may need to be retained for security, billing, tax, legal or fraud-prevention reasons.
Signed-in mobile users can initiate account deletion from Settings. DULIN will email them when it is complete. Deleting a DULIN account does not automatically cancel an Apple or Google subscription; subscriptions must be managed in the relevant app store.
