Permission to bathe is not permission to park anywhere, camp overnight or use another person's land as a changing room. Decide those questions before unpacking.

Four situations worth deciding in advance

• The pool is full: do not crowd others out or enlarge the pool. Use your maintained-pool alternative.
• There is no toilet: use facilities before the approach and carry out waste; lack of infrastructure is a limit, not an invitation to improvise beside the water.
• You cannot establish public access: contact the operator or choose a clearly managed destination.
• The water or ground looks unfamiliar: stay out. Another visitor's behaviour is not a safety assessment.

Etiquette begins before entering the water

Park legally, follow the published access route and read signs before changing or bathing. At maintained pools, shower without swimwear where the facility requires it. At natural places, never add soap, shampoo, food, glass or waste to the water or surrounding ground.

Respect privacy and limited capacity

A small pool may be physically full with only a few people. Do not pressure existing bathers, photograph strangers or treat a private changing area as public scenery. Leave quietly when local users, the landowner, damage or crowding make the visit inappropriate.

Can I change the water temperature by moving stones?

Do not alter a natural pool, channel or geothermal feature. It can damage the place, change conditions for others and create a burn risk.

Can I camp beside a hot pot?

Not unless camping is explicitly allowed. Bathing access does not grant overnight, vehicle or campsite rights.
